My interviews I had Thursday went fantastic. The peds. clinic actually offered me a job. I was actually kind of in shock because I wasn't expecting a job offer that day. Turned out my references had absolutely nothing but great and nice things to say about me and also my former job and the office manager who interviewed me was impressed with me also according to the doctor I had me second interview with. He's actually the doctor in charge of the nursing staff. It really was a great second interview. Turns out the doctor in charge of the nursing staff and I have a few things in common and part of the interview involved discussing those things. He was so easy to talk to. Anyway I didn't accept the job that day. My interview at the foot and ankle clinic went really well too and the gal that interviewed me said they would call me either Friday or Monday and let me know their decision and if I was offered the job they would let me come in on Tuesday for like an hour to observe a typical day so I could see if I really wanted to work for them. I thought that was really cool. I wanted to leave my options open so I asked if I could give the peds. clinic my decision on Tuesday.
Well after doing nothing but thinking about it the rest of Thursday and most of Friday I finally decided to accept the peds offer. I have always wanted to work in pediatrics and I figured that if I didn't accept this job and I let it fall through my fingers I would probably end up regretting it so I took the job. I start this Wednesday. I'll be working 8:30 to 5:30 Monday thru Friday with probably Wednesday being my late night where I will have to work 11:30 to 8:00. I will also have to probably work a weekend once a month but he doesn't see that happens any time soon.
I'm really excited but a little nervous too. I've never worked pediatrics so there is going to be a whole new world I'm going to have to learn because children a have different set of number they go by than adults. I got my clinical book out from school and I've been going over some of the things in it about pediatrics so I'll be a little bit prepared on Wednesday. Plus this clinic also uses electronic medical records. I've never worked with them before. I'm use to the old paper medical records so that is going to be a new experience for me.
Until tomorrow........
