Hello once again diary friends. It's been quite a while since I've graced everyone's presence. Almost a year I believe. It really doesn't seem that long. I've decided to start writing here again because I miss all of my dear diary friends. I guess I need to catch everyone up on what's been going.I'll start with the kids. The kids have been doing well. Michael had his second round of botox injections back in September and he's still doing well. His doctor increased the dosage in each thigh and we are hoping that we will be able to go 6 months maybe longer before the third round. He's not showing any signs yet of tighting up so we may actually make it to 6 months. Michael started the 2nd grade and he's doing really well in school again this year.
Mason is still taking swimming lessons. He's in level 3 now and he's probably going to be there a little longer. I have no problem with that though. I want to make sure he is absolutely ready before they move him up to the next level. Mason started kindergarten this year and he seems to be enjoying school. However, his behavior in school isn't to be desired. He seems to be having a problem keeping his hands to himself and listening to his teacher. He's already been sent to the principal's office and I had to go pick him up from school. This happened before Thanksgiving. There have been no more trips since then and I hope it stays that way.
As for me since the kids are in school full-time now I've been looking for a part-time job but I haven't had much luck. Of course I haven't been putting as much energy to searching as I should. I'm just finding it hard to get motivated. I guess I've gotten use to being home but our finances aren't looking so hot right now so I really do need to find a job.
I've made it my new year's resolution to lose weight this year and Mike has decided to help me in my goal and he got me an elliptical for Christmas. I've done pretty good so far. I actually used my elliptical every until last weekend when I got really sick. I went to see the doctor last Monday and I found out that I have an ear infection, a sinus infection, and strep throat. I haven't been able to do any kind of exercising. Fortunately the only good thing about me being sick is I've been able to keep my weight down. I've lost a total of 5 pounds since the 1st of the year. I have 10 more pounds to do now to get to my goal weight.
My grandma is spending the winter with us. She decided that she didn't want to spend another winter in her house by herself again. She asked both of my aunts if she could stay with them for the winter but they both came flat out and said no. She talked to my mom and my mom said she was more than welcome to come stay up here with us so that is what she decided to do. She got up here the 2nd week of November and she will probably be here until April maybe May. It's been nice having her here. This was the first Thanksgiving I have ever gotten to spend with her and the first Christmas since I was 6 months old. The kids are loving having her here too.
Two weeks before Christmas I had to have Denali put to sleep. It was a very hard decision for me. He was my favorite cat. I was going to try to wait until after the holidays but he was going downhill so fast I just couldn't put off what was coming anymore. It's been hard getting use to not having him around anymore. I think Sitka and Mystic miss him too. I know the kids do. Heck Mike even misses him. He was a good cat but he's in a better place now.
Rhonda left for Iraq the last weekend in October. She's been over there for almost 3 months. I really miss her but I've been talking to her just about every day on Google Talk. She's doing well and looking forward to coming home. She was suppose to come back in August but it now looks like she will be back in April. I guess there is another unit coming in. They aren't going to need her unit so they will be coming home. I can't wait because things definitely are not the same around here without her.
Rhonda's ex and I are still not friends and even if he was to come crawling back to me begging me to be friends with him again I would have to laugh in his face and say you've got to be kidding right? After what you did? Basically to make a long story short I ended up having to testify at their last custody hearing before Rhonda left for Iraq. We her ex didn't like what I had to say to the judge so he decided to try and get back at me by calling the police and child social services telling them that Mike had child porn on his computer and when I didn't want to deal with my kids anymore I would lock them in their room and ignore them. Of course they came out to the house and did any investigation and of course found nothing because there wasn't anything to find to begin with. The police officer told us that the accusations sounded a little suspicious but since a claim was made they had to investigate. I was completely dumbfounded when I opened the front door and had the cops on my door step because Rhonda's ex is an a**hole. I'm just wondering whatelse he's going to try and do when she gets back from Iraq.
Anyway, that is pretty much what's been going on in my neck of the woods. I guess I need to get off the computer and go rescue the cat from Mason's clutches.
