(not much money in that you leave the ship with less then a dollar to your name!!!)Hey everyone sorry this is so delayed, I've been busy and then when I tried to write in here I was either interupted by something or I actually did write the whole thing out and then was about to hit post and my stupid computer froze on me. Well anyways that vaca was exactly what I needed! I had a blast and I came back relaxed, refreshed and with my old spunk back. On the ship we always kept busy. By the time we had time to sit out in the sun it was already starting to go down. Always some little cheezy "game show" to watch or little variety show it was alot of fun. And the food was awesome. Every night I tried to have something I never had before. The first night I had duck! It was soooooooooooooooo yummmmmmmy! And most of the time I had fish, but on the last night I had stuffed quail. I wish that I could say that it was also yummy but there was sooo little meat to it that I couldn't tell..... the stuffing was good though, lol. Our first stop was Costa Maya, it was nice there and really uninhabited...a lot of flat land full of mangroves. There we went to some mayan ruins which was nice, but I think our time could have been better spent doing something else. The prob is that we didn't get to walk through the whole park...we only saw two or three pyramids... and we also got behind from the group so instead of possibly seeing other stuff we went straight back to the entrance. The next stop was Grande Cayman. That was my favorite place to go to. There was lots to do there and it's really pretty as well. We did the three in one excursion. We went to the turtle farm, the town of Hell, and then to Stingray city. All three were lots of fun, although stingray city was a bit anticlimatic for me. I'm used to swimming in a tank full of rays swarming all over you all the time at work. At stingray city it is a sandbar in the middle of the ocean so the waves crashing into the sandbar made it hard to keep steady and take pictures. Also there were maybe only about 25 rays in the large area and they shyied away from us even when I tried to feed them. But even though I'm biased I did have a great time. The next stop was Jamaica. We did the dolphin touch program and of course climbed the falls. I'm really proud of my mom as she made it up a third of the falls...I felt bad though cause she fell. After she got out of the water...something pretty interesting happened lol...I was solicited (was it that obvious that I was single? lol!) Anyways the tour guy who was videotaping us came up to me and asked if we could talk afterwards.... I was like NO!!! And the whole time he was calling me sweet thing and hot lady and all that. eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I took tons of pics go check them out. There are so many that I had to have two separate folders, both are titled Carribean cruise.
So my happiness was soon taken away when I got back to work. I knew something was gonna happen. I can never leave work for longer than two days without something going wrong. Well when I came back after two weeks of vaca, I found out that my baby octopus died TWO DAYS before I came back! He died cause they neglected to properly take care of him so the chems in his container ended up crashing. I was sooooo pissed. And then somehow I was blamed for one of my lumpfish that died while I was gone as well. It was acting fine when I left. It ended up having egg relention...that is a tricky thing cause sometimes the fish act normally up until they die. But oh well. Things have gotten better again though. We got another new octo, her mantle is about the size of a softball and she is only three pounds....she's sooo cute... I named her electra. :) And the other day I found out that although I'm not going on the Maine collecting trip (mostly cause of my back) I will be going on the Long Island collecting trip again. I'm fine with that though cause I had alot of fun last year. Oh and I also recently helped out on a sea lion procedure! I got to even hold it! Granted it was through gloves lol but still! It was alittle unnerving being in the bottom of a drained pool exhibit and having these monsterous animals charging at you (we had people with boards keeping them back), but it was definitely a great experience.
So on to my personal life. Last weekend was awesome! I did something I never did before and something I haven't done in a long time. So last friday night I went to a funderaiser for my friends roller derby team at Club Hell in Providence. They were having a debutante ball so everyone dressed up in their cheezy prom dresses and danced to eighties/nineties music all night. It was a blast, I hadn't danced that much or that freely in a long time... probably since my college commencement ball. Oh and I did something I never did before....I...along with my coworkers........ cage danced! It was sooooo much fun... I was going crazy in there and didn't care what anyone though...of course now I'm probably on several websites now lol. No I wasn't lude or anything... but I did let loose. It was much needed.
Then on Saturday night..... :-D I went on a date! No it wasn't that volunteer diver guy... he was just a stupid crush.... I wouldn't have meshed well with him anyways. The guy I went out with was someone who I've become close friends with over the past year. We had a great time! We went to the Newport Playhouse which I highly recommend to everyone. You get to have dinner then watch a play, then you watch a cabaret show where they sing and tell silly one liner jokes. It was lot of fun, then afterwards we went to a local bar where we could just chat. :-D So I'm still in slow mo mode but things are going well. :)
Well that's all for now. till next time!
