New Theme Available

DearDiary.Net has today purchased a license for the Genesis Framework, which is a WordPress framework that enables rapid development of new themes and theme features. I’ve had a bit of a play with it and it looks extremely promising, to the point where I’m not going to bother trying to build my own theme for DearDiary – half of the stuff I wanted to implement is already done with Genesis.

The framework is now installed live on the server and I recommend that everyone switch to it! I can’t unfortunately (yet) make it the default theme for new diaries though. At this moment in time the new theme supports the changing of the header and the background (similar to the original theme) but also allows you to choose how many columns (1, 2 or 3) and the placement of those columns. Presently you can’t change the fonts, but that won’t take me long (after exams, at the moment I’m just playing :-))

My Jerrek diary is running the new theme if you prefer a sneak preview…
