I went to Madison this morning because I was not feeling well.  Found out that my kidney is doing fine but my potassium is slightly low.  I got some potassium powder to drink in juice – not too horrible actually.  The powder packets put in something does not taste as bad as trying to swallow the pills that are huge.

Back on schedule today.  I did not see JP today so J came and helped with my laundry and cleaning.  I ended up getting a load of laundry out of the dryer by myself and it was only a few towels.  RK was here from 9 to 1015 and J left around 11 am.  I got my load of laundry and brought it down and put it away.  I had company for a little while before 12 noon and then left for my appointment at 1230 pm and was home by 2 pm.

I do have to admit that I am glad to have a little time for myself this weekend, this day.  No shower today because it is a holiday so I will see YE next Monday at 8 am.  I took the weekend and did not see CSE at all but that will change tomorrow and the rest of the week.  Today would have been my grandparents anniversary if they were alive.  I wore their rings all month in honor to my grandparents and I will again wear the rings again in July to honor my grandpa’s birthday the 25, and again in October to honor my grandma’s birthday.  If my grandparents were still alive today, it would be their 74th wedding anniversary – grandpa would have been 100 and grandma would have been 93.  Due to ill health they died in 1997 at 78 and at age 91 in 2003.  Grandma died before Grandpa.  When my grandparents married in 1938, it was two days before Memorial Day that was official 30 years later.  Memorial Day was proclaimed it’s day officially on May 5, 1968 by General John Logan.

Today is Sunday and this morning, in about a half an hour I am heading to church.  I have been going to church every weekend – Sunday – since April 15th and we – I believe – we are still hearing from the pastor Galatians.  I have NOT missed a weekend sermon since the 15th, and to be very honest, I thought i was going to be spending an hour or so finding my keys in the apartment somewhere outside where they get hung up because by this morning I totally forgot exactly where I put them yesterday after roaming about the apartment building visiting my upstairs neighbor B – the neighbor who lives right above me – because she wanted to tell me her woes and why she has been upset with a neighbor who lives down the hall from her.  Anyway, I did find them and was able to find a few minutes to write in my diary here before heading out the door to go wait for my ride to go to church.  I hope we are still studying and learning about Galatians.  Pastor TE has gotten me on fire for the Lord now since April 15th!  Woo hoo!

After I get home from church, I will have  about three to four hours – unless we do not have Sunday School this morning after the service, before KB comes at 5 to 615 to help me with my shower this evening since I am allotted 6 days a week of showers and tomorrow is Memorial Day. YE will not be here tomorrow.  If I did not call Rescare a couple of weeks ago to see about getting my 6th day or evening shower in, I would be without a shower from Saturday to Tuesday and I can not really have that.  I love my 6 showers a week.  After 615 pm tonight, my apartment, the rest of the weekend is mine.  I have not had CSE down at all this weekend yet and plan on not having her down at all this weekend.  I have been so busy lately that I need some time without too much company around right now and this weekend is the best weekend for it.  I am getting a lot done for once.

Plans Today

I am going to be seeing my friend CB between now and lunch after she gets off work … overtime today … and the rest of the day, after seeing CB, I will spend the rest of the day doing some Bible studying, reading, and my shower gal KB will be here from 5 to 615 this evening, and then I will get myself ready for tomorrow.

The Rest of My Weekend

I will be going to Bethel Baptist Church tomorrow.  My ride will be here around 9 am and service is at 930 am, and then Sunday School and back home.  Since this weekend is another holiday weekend, I am taking advantage of this weekend honoring the men and women who are still fighting for our freedoms and country today along with those who have lost loved ones while serving in the war of today and yesterday.  We are having a small airshow at our small Rock County Airport this weekend so I will be hearing planes and jets fly overhead and around the area all weekend.  I have my shower gal coming tomorrow, Sunday, at 5 pm to 615 pm because YE will not make it on Monday due to it being Memorial Day.  I get to see KB all weekend this weekend for the 1st time in a long time.  I just can not see myself not having a shower for two days … not my thing.  I like my showers 6 days a week.  On Monday, since it will be Memorial Day, I will be here at home doing my things and my busy week will begin on Tuesday.

Hello & Good Morning

Before morning does escape me, I thought I would say hello and good morning.  I have already had my breakfast and I am taking the rest of my morning hanging around here at home.  I went grocery shopping Tuesday so I do not have to go today with JP.

My Day Today

I am going to stay home for the most part of my morning.  I am not sure if I am going anywhere special outside my apartment today or this weekend.  I am not sure, yet, today, if I am going to have CSE down for a visit and let her get online today or tonight but since it is only a couple of hours before noon here, I might yet change my mind. At this time, early as it is for me now, I intend not to have CSE down tonight or tomorrow.  I need some time for myself right now.  I have my shower gal here  at 730 – 845 pm tonight anyway.  Because it happens to be a holiday weekend and I live nearby the Rock County Airport, I believe they will be having their airshow this weekend, and so a lot of plane noise will be going on.

Long Nails Now

I have not bitten my nails for a long time now – 2 months – and they are long … today.  I love them!  Being a finger nail biter for many years, quitting when I was 13 for a few years, I vowed to change my finger nail biting habits once again as of March 23rd and it has been a great change for me.  My shower gal, KB helps me keep my nails nice every Friday after my shower now since they are growing fast.  They have been staying out of my mouth.  I also have t admit, too, that it feels strange right now but I love them!  I have found it difficult at times with my growing nails when it comes to typing, punching in numbers on the microwave.  I have to remind myself to use the pads of my fingers now, lol … a constant reminder that is.

Catching Up On DVR Recordings

I have some catching up to do on watching TV now, lol.  I have been so busy everyday lately. This is one weekend I can catch up on some things without too much bother.  I have a lot of watching to do and today and tomorrow.

My Weekend Plans

I have no major plans this weekend other than going to church on Sunday with the family I have been getting a ride to church every weekend since the weekend of April 13th – 15th,  We have been studying and reading Galatians and I have not missed a messages regarding Galatians every since I have started.

Due to fact that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend, I will be seeing my shower gal KB tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, since YE will not be here on Monday due to the holiday.  Even my other professional helpers will be off of work that day.  I also believe that we will be having an airshow going on at our little Rock County Airport this weekend so noise will be happening all weekend at certain times.  I am not really in for the noise but I do live down the way from the airport but I do enjoy seeing the planes they have going in the airshow they come flying this way above the trees and building.

Today was my day to have my shower gal RK here from  9 to 1015 am, and my IDS DSP (Direct Support Professional) KP here to continue my organization skills.  When KP and I saw each other at the IDS picnic yesterday, we agreed to work on my bedroom this week, and so we did just that.  We worked on my bedroom today and now it looks like what a bedroom should for now.  Yay!  Nothing for me to trip over or have such a small space to get from place to place in there.  We even have dresser space on top of each dresser to put things  and I got rid of a few things.  It was a productive two hours and I believe we got a lot done in those two hours for one living space/corner of my apartment.  We even had a little bit of time to organize my computer desk drawer with more folders and put papers and things in their proper places,  I am looking forward to the rest of the afternoon and my weekend of relaxation and very little company.  I want to do some Bible study and reading, and catch up on some DVR recordings … long past overdue, lol … 7 weeks.

Picnic Day For IDS

I do not have my shower at 1030 am this morning because IDS has a picnic today for all of the clients who have signed up for this IDS outing.  We have had our picnics in September in the past but this year we are having our first one before September today on May 23rd.  I am so looking forward to going and then when I get home, I will have my shower gal YE here to help with my shower at 230 – 330 this afternoon.  I am so looking forward to going and getting away for a while from TM to be with friends.

Today things were a little different than my usual Tuesday … slightly.  JP got here a few minutes before 8 am and got a load of laundry started and my shower gal RK took the laundry out of the dryer and folded all my clothes and towels before she left for the morning.  JP picked me back up around 1 pm to take me grocery shopping because I needed to get fruit and vegetables, and some meals for my new eating lifestyle since I could not wait until Friday this week to go grocery shopping.  I was running out of food, lol.  I won’t let myself starve or allow Bing to starve either.

So today was a busy day for me.  I was glad to get home when my shopping was done.  CSE was here to be with Bing while I was gone so she could have internet access for awhile.

Okay …

Ladies, if you have been told that mammograms hurt or have been told horror stories about mammograms, please be rest assured that it depends on every woman’s experience.  Having a mammogram every year starting at the age of 40 is so very important.  I am 41 and missed my first experience last year because of the fact I have been told horror stories through the years up to age 40 about how it hurt and lumps and masses have been found.    I even know some women who do not have breasts because they are so thin.  It is so amazing to have conversations about breasts and pap smears these days.

Anyway…

I had my first experience today … having my breasts squeezed did not hurt at all.  The only thing I did not like about the experience but will tolerate in the future, was the fact that they turned the machine was turned to a 45 degree angle.  Standing at that point was a little different and having my arms at an awkward angle and each breast was trying to get in the way, lol.  I was glad the mammogram was over and I was able to put my bra and shirt back on, and head home.  I did not even have to wait long for my ride either.

So ladies, please do not listen to anyone about how horrible mammograms are because they can save your breasts if you do have anything there of concern … you need to be the judge and experience it for yourself to see how good or not good a mammogram is.  My judgment of having a mammogram is … … it was a good experience and not bad at all.  The girls who helped with my mammogram were very good to me and helped me stand with support.  I bruise easy and I have no bruising on my breasts at all from my first mammogram experience.  It did not hurt at all.  Just remember to breathe is all I say.
