Morning comes
a slight wind blows
and it does not take long
to remember what I’m Feeling

Too bad the slight breeze was only my fan in my room. I just asked rick and he said it is going to be 102 today. Yesterday it was 101 by noon ( and I was still slinging laundry around). Yesterday I psyched myself up by talking myself into the idea that lifting and moving heavy things in the direct sunlight is actually good for me… In sooth a little hard work never hurt anybody. Yesterday on the drive home I was thinking about my ancestors in Egypt. They worked 14 hour days (or even more) as slaves in egypt’s heat and sun. On the drive home I was grateful that I am not a slave in egypt.

I sigh. It is going to be another day slinging laundry around in the heat. If you want to know what 102 is in celcius, then subtract 32 from 102 and then multiply the answer by 5 and devide by 9. It always worked for me. that is close to 39 C. damn that is hot.

Did I mention it is hot?

Now I don’t usually complain about the heat. After the summer of ’98 before i had Zachary and it was like over 100 for over 2 weeks in a row and i was driving around in a car with no air conditioning for about a month before he was born. I really got used to texas heat. It took a few years and really after a while it really isn’t that bad. In fact I am looking FORWARD to the endurance challenge. I hope I don’t get winded like i got yesterday. But… the body reacts pretty strangely- I was feeling like a bowl of jello by the last leg… and I was giggly and kind of stumbly. Can you get pseudo drunk from heat?

To be honest though, it’s really not that bad. I need to be careful though and drink a lot of water and NOT do what i did yesterday and jump into a freezing cold shower when i get home because then I got a chill. Funny. Of course though , Rick keeps it at -5 million in here. Half the time I wear long sleves in the house.

Well my voyager episode that I havent seen yet is finally downloaded. I am going to get my Janeway fix before I go to work.

OH OH OH funny. the other night in the car.. Chris and I were talking about how I never changed my name to his last name officially (Brown) (no I am not worried about anonymity0- there are a million christopher browns in the phone book- well, whats funny is he said to me ” Once i saw a piece of mail with “Beth U ******-Brown” and I said “U? that is your middle initial”. and he said he thought i lost my S for Suzanne. and I said the dorkiest thing ever ” Damn.. if i knew i was going to lose my S I never would have gotten married”

that comment was right up there with my brothers ex girlfriend’s statement ” I am going to college so that one day I can have a stable job, be able to buy a house and have kids… and then one day … I can have a dog!”
