We have been advised by our solicitors that information covered by the privacy policy can be given to other law agencies, without necessarily being threatened with a court order. Such a policy would be costly to us because we could have to appear in court in whatever country the problem is occuring. Thus, the wording…
I have now fixed the Windows Client (well the backend) so that when you now Post and Publish all the people on your notify list will actually be notified now. There is no mechanism to NOT notify through the windows client at this point in time, though if enough people want me to put the…
Many many apologies for a second outage in as many days. The problem was identical, the solution less radical than last time thankfully but now that it’s happened twice we know that there is something to be investigated thoroughly. If you receive the “site too busy” page then please email us and let us know,…
HUGE numbers of people who have, at some point, had deardiary.net email addresses in their address book, can expect to receive unsolicited emails from our server, telling them that they may have a virus on their computer. Why? Because they may have a virus/worm on their computer, quite simply. I’ve checked the logs today and…
Apologies for the downtime, it was scheduled to take about half an hour and then the server blew up… Over the next few days the service in the mornings (US time) will be intermittent as we prepare and implement the move to the new server. This will mean that the evening speed and performance will…
Surely it is amusing that I write in here, instead of getting my own diary up to date? 🙂 Hehehe 😉 I’ll get back to it, honest 🙂 I just wanted to note down some thoughts on performance of Websites – for those readers that are building, running, or even just considering running their own….
I appreciate your work. Thank you 🙂
Test comments now…
yes, i am comforted to know you’re working at it. thanks.

No problem, Steve, a little PHP downtime and sporadic site access is worth it in the short term if it means the site works better in the long term. We appreciate all your hard work!! =)
So all the login issues and stuff is related to that? I’m used to like full on down. Like access to nothing. The partial acces thing is all confusing me.
Oh well. Have fun debugging. 🙂
We will sit on the sidelines, cheering you on admiringly! Hope your work goes quickly and without too many frustrations.
Hugs,
Ani

ahem…just tested…actually, Steve, the internal server error is still present 🙁 it is only appears in old diaries with millions of entries and easily gets rid of by refreshing browser…personally I don’t mind doing it, I’d think many other won’t either. as long as it is a known bug with a known resolve…I wouldn’t worry much 😉

I’m not getting anymore of those, "Skeleton diary doesn’t exist" things anymore. I don’t have the skeleton diary… nor did I really care if it existed. Just wondered why login would be going there. lol
Hope you have fun with your bugs today. 🙂 Someday this will all be automated and all you’ll have to do is sit there and watch it work for you.
