~Some Background Information~

Married (in 1980), and a mom to three kids. I work full time as a paramedic.

My oldest son, Alex, (27 and married) is an Army Combat Medic (91 Whiskey) currently serving his third tour of duty in Iraq. I have a married daughter, Ashley, whom is 23 and is a new mother to Bella, born May 21, 2009. My youngest child, Brice, is 20. Two years ago he was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was successfully removed however he undergoes MRI's on a regular basis and will for the rest of his life.

My husband, Max, and I live on a 13 acre farm stretching along a river. Each year we get two salmon runs (silver and chinook), and three runs of steelhead right in our backyard. Searun, which are cutthroat trout, navigate here from the ocean, spawn, then head back to the ocean. We have a wide range of variety of animals that we share space with. Some of the more common critters are: raccoons, coyotoes, skunks, fox, eagles, mink, deer, elk and possums. While we don't see these animals too often, we do see "sign" of them: cougar (mountain lion), bear, bobcat, and Bigfoot. Just kidding! But you never know, we do live in the Pacific Northwest!

One of the reasons we live on a farm is to keep horses in our lives on a full time basis. Currently we have three horses. Two are purebred Drinkers of the Wind (aka Arabians) and one is a Breeding Stock Paint.Rounding out the domesticated animals are two cats.

A small family business, a feed store, located on the farm helps pay for the horses, and provides a bit of extra income.
