I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

I haven’t posted in forever, I know. I did move to my new site, but haven’t gotten around to updating that much either. Things happen and I think I should write about them, but I never seem to actually get time to process the thoughts into something consumable for all of you (nearly wrote “you all”… had an American on the phone to me today and she used that phrase about 6 times in 2 minutes).

Our kitty Annie (the wombat) has been in the wars, she has punctured her eye ball on something, no idea what, and she had a black mass forming over her eye. We had no idea what was causing it so took her to the vet, to find out she had punctured it. They dosed her up on medication and we had to take her back the next day to see if it helped at all. It didn’t. We were told the operation to save her eye would be about $1500 and that was not a feasible option at the moment, so they did a smaller surgery to try to encourage the healing, but the vet was not optimistic at the completion of it. We have to take her back on Friday to have her reassessed, but it looks like she might lose her eye :(

For the time being though, she has a bucket on her head, which she hates, and which our other cat, Ebby, hates even more. She hisses at her constantly and has tried to attack her a few times, we have to keep them basically apart. It probably doesn’t help matters that Eb still gets booted out to the cat run at night and Annie sleeps on the couch! But them’s the breaks – it’s small compensation for being a bucket head and having to have two medications daily.

Works blows. I am looking for a new job. If I start talking about it I’ll probably start crying for the millionth time this week, so let’s just leave it at that. I am investigating part time employment opportunities, and have actually applied for one with the RSPCA which I would be head over heels to get, but am not holding my breath – hopefully they will interview me, but if they don’t c’est la vie. I have been for one interview and have 2 more on Thursday for other positions, but am not telling anyone I work with yet, I am not 100% sure I will go.

We are planning Amelia’s first birthday party at the moment, time has gone too fast! We have decided to have it at the local pub, which has a massive children’s play room and means I don’t have to cook, or clean, or really do much of anything, I think it is ideal! I’ll worry about the special parties when she is old enough to appreciate and/or remember them at a later date!

Anywho, it’s bed time for me, I need to start going earlier, I am always so exhausted!
